World Storytelling Day Concert, recorded live March 21, 2007 at The Rooms, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Introduction by Perry Chafe, followed by "The Three Dolls" performed by storyteller Dale Jarvis; "The Giant Who Had No Heart in His Body" and "The Boy Who Loved to Draw Cats" by storyteller Elinor Benjamin; and concluding with "The Fairy Frog" by Dale Jarvis. Started in Sweden in 2003, World Storytelling Day has grown in a few short years to a global celebration of the art of oral storytelling, celebrated every year on the first day of spring. 2007 was the first time a storytelling concert was held in Newfoundland to commemorate World Storytelling Day, sponsored by the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council, the St. John's Storytelling Circle, and The Rooms.
